PART 1

The Australian symbol I chose to alter is the gumtree leaf.  I tried to create abstract patterns and shapes as well as images such as the apple, lips and bird. I thought it was interesting that a simple black leaf could transform into numerous designs. I particularly like the apple design as the form is slightly abstract, yet you can still recognise the apple and the original gumtree leaf shape.
