The company
I have been researching which I think is similar to Sustenance is Freedom
Foods. They are an Australian owned
company which opened in 1990 and are focused on producing delicious food which
is also free from common allergens e.g. gluten, wheat, dairy and nuts. The majority of their ingredients are sourced
locally unless they are unattainable e.g. as a result of poor growing
conditions, and there are only two products that they sell which are not made
in Australia. Freedom Foods products can
be found in the health food section in most supermarkets in both Australia and
New Zealand.
In 2009
they constructed on of the few “free from” factories in the world, which is
100% free from wheat, barley, triticale, sesame seeds and nuts. Currently there are over 50 people working at
the factory. Their philosophy is;
“everyone can benefit
from delicious food that is free from the stuff you don’t need so that your
body can work better.”
This shows that not only do their products cater to
people with certain allergies they also benefit anyone wanting to eat
nutritious food. Freedom Foods also
focus on maintaining an honest relationship with their customers, ensuring
their products have nutritional value and are free from “bad” ingredients (e.g.
free from artificial ingredients and low on salt and sugar) and that their
products are tasty and natural.
